BACK TO THE 'GREEN'

After being smitten by a major travel 'bug' I am now back into the swing of things again.

But it got me thinking. How "green" are you when you travel? I evaluated our travels and came up with the following:

1. Used Gasbuddy.com to find the least expensive fuel
2. When going to a fast food restaurant - we parked and went in rather than 'idling' in the drive through.
3. Requested "no bag" when we got take out at Chipotle.
4. Used no plastic lids or straws when getting beverages inside the restaurant (fast food)
5. Said "no" to condiments (ketchup, etc.) and returned those that weren't used to the counter.
6. When ordering 'water' at one restaurant (fast food) they offered me a Styrofoam cup, which I declined and stated I would wait until I got to my car where I had water in a reusable bottle instead.
7. We took quite a bit of our own food which cut down on packaging waste products from fast food joints.
8. We stayed at economy hotels that were off the direct roadways to cut back on emissions from passing cars.
9. We turned off all lights and TV's when we left our room and kept the thermostat down to a reasonable temp.
10. Last but not least, if no recycling containers were found where we were, we brought it back and recycled here at home.

What travel "green" tips or things have you done while traveling?
