I was excited to finally get my ceramic egg holder for my refrigerator. Thanks to my awesome sister and her family who gave me a gift certificate to Amazon.com for my birthday I was able to pick it and a couple of other items from my "Wish List". As I opened the box and put my eggs in place I thought about the plastic container I just tossed in the recycle bin that my brown organic eggs came in. I started to think about where I could find some local brown organic eggs that I could just go pick up and take my own re-usable container?
Yeah, I've taken the first step and bought free range, organic eggs - but I didn't check where they came from and then it there is the plastic container they came in. True, we are fortunate to have a municipal recycle program that I can use, but I'm not sure it's necessary.
I found a GREAT resource for finding local purveyors of eggs, grass-fed meat, and dairy. If you are looking to steer clear of factory farmed foods go
HERE and find alternatives in all fifty states.
